Hi.

We’re Taylor and Mark, and we love to travel and eat. We made this site to share our favorite places in each city we visit, and hopefully our lists help you plan your next trip!

Feel free to share this with anyone heading somewhere new.

  • Oldfaithful to Grizzly Medows (needs a good base)

  • Meriwether

  • Lookout Ridge

Suggested Winter Travel Plan

Fly into Bozeman. It's a super tiny airport and you'll have to connect through MSP, DEN, DFW, SLC, or ORD. From there, I suggest renting a car at the airport and driving 1h15 south to Big Sky. Flights usually get in really late at night, so you can either stop at Albertsons (open till midnight) and grab a few groceries before heading to Big Sky or just grab food the next morning.

In my opinion, the best way to do it is to rent a house on the mountain depending on how many people you're going with. I'm biased, but Moonlight Basin is the best part of Big Sky (on the same day pass). It's around the north face and has tons of glades, very few people, and the best houses with ski in / ski out access. Check out this site for house rentals and look for things in Cowboy Heaven.

For ski rental if you're not bringing your own, definitely go to East Slope Outfitters. It's slightly more expensive than renting in Bozeman, but Dave (the owner) is the best guy in town to set you up.

There's not much of a ski town, just a grocery store (Roxy's is the best), hospital, and couple of restaurants. I definitely recommend eating, drinking, and / or cross country skiing at least once at Lone Mountain Ranch. They have an awesome bar, live music, beautiful scenery, and great food. You can also stay there in one of their cabins but it's usually pretty pricey. Olive B's and Ousel & Spur are the best other food options in town.

One benefit of renting a house is they almost all come with outdoor hot tubs, which IMO is the best way to unwind after a day on the slopes.
