New York City
We have so much to suggest in NYC! This is just our list of favorites, and assumes you have already done the major tourist spots like Rockefeller Center or the Met.
Favorites
Walking the High Line
The furniture stores on 18th - 22nd street between 5th and 7th ave.
Brooklyn Bridge park and taking the ferry to get there
Pod 39, Wythe Hotel, or the William Vale for a rooftop bar with a view
Grey Dog for breakfast (great for breakfast. Cozy, casual, comfortable. Good lunch/dinner options too)
Sleep No More for an unique experience
Go to a show at Rough Trade, Saint Vitus, or Bowery Ballroom
Van Leeuwen for ice cream (with great dairy free options!). We prefer the one near us in Cobble hill, but there are other locations as well as trucks around the city.
Bozu (our favorite casual sushi place in Williamsburg)
Jimmy's Diner (our favorite diner - seriously amazing "American" breakfast - highly worth visiting, in Williamsburg - get the “Tater Heaven”)
Henry Public (nice place for an afternoon cocktail and their pulled turkey sandwich - they also have a live jazz band on Sundays)
Falafel Heights (cheap, amazing falafel and shwarma plates)
Aria (great place for a date - Italian tapas-style plates & wine bar)
The Spotted Pig, order the burger (though Mario Batali has recently been accused of sexual harassment and his company owns this place so…we haven’t been back since those accusations)
Other Non-Food Things
WTC Museum
Chelsea Market (lots of shops and food stalls)
Highline (elevated park through the best parts of Manhattan)
Brooklyn Bridge Park & Promenade & DUMBO (great place to walk and relax)
Washington Square Park, Madison Square Park, & Bryant Park (especially around the holidays with their markets)
