You must have the AMAZING pork knuckle at Den Glade Gris, and they have a good beer selection.
Our Airbnb was near the Royal Palace and we were lucky enough to have to walk through the gardens to get most places. Even if its out of your way, its worth strolling around the unique corners of the grounds.
Akershus Castle and Fortress is a nice morning walk and there is no charge to stroll.
TUNCO Haugen has amazing noodles. Its a fast casual restaurant.
Grünerløkka - the “hip” neighborhood and worth walking around or going out:
We went to Tim Wendelboe for coffee. It was fine, but felt a bit pretentious (coming from a coffee loving brooklynite…)
Foccaciaria is a good place for a snack or meal
Olaf Ryes Plass is the small park in the middle of the neighborhood. There was a flea market/food even going on the Saturday we were there, and it felt like a pretty common occurrence
The Opera House in on the water and is an interesting building to walk around/on.
The National Architecture Museum is worth visiting and has some great, interactive exhibits.
