Hi.

We’re Taylor and Mark, and we love to travel and eat. We made this site to share our favorite places in each city we visit, and hopefully our lists help you plan your next trip!

Feel free to share this with anyone heading somewhere new.

Bergen

Bergen

We were in Bergen during the world cycling championships, so our experience may have been slightly impacted by that. We also had amazing weather of 75 degrees and sunny 4 days in a row, which is apparently unheard of. We hear that most visitors should prepare for rain, or at least overcast.

Allmuen has some really interesting dishes.

Walk around Nordness, which is the old, winding neighborhood. You’ll feel like you’re in a story book.

Bare Vestland is dark and cozy with fantastic food

Daily Pot has good coffee, tea, and food. We were working remote a few days a spent a few hours working out of here as well.

Godt Brod is a needed stop for breads/treats.

Ride the Bergen Funicular to the top of Mt. Fløyen. Enjoy the view, take pictures of goats, and then walk the trail back down to town. On the trail you’ll feel like you’re on another planet made entirely of moss and inhabited by trolls.

Hallaisen Ice Cream Parlor speciality ice cream. We went in the evening after the hottest day of the year (a scorching 80 degrees) and they were out of many flavors. I tried lemon licorice, which was amazingly good considering I hate licorice.

We stayed at this Airbnb. We normally enjoy Airbnb’s, but don’t go out of our way to recommend specific ones. However, in this case the host was exceedingly helpful, and the space was charming. We really enjoyed our stay.

In the harbor you’ll find commuter ferries to all kinds of places. We decided to take a half day trip to Skjerjenamn which was a great call.
