Hi.

We’re Taylor and Mark, and we love to travel and eat. We made this site to share our favorite places in each city we visit, and hopefully our lists help you plan your next trip!

Feel free to share this with anyone heading somewhere new.

Favorites

  1. Republique - Delicious cocktails and food with a really cool atmosphere, great for dinner (the bread with pan-drippings appetizer is perfection)

  2. Phantom Carriage Brewery - Random, awesome goth brewery we stumbled upon (with strong direction from Taylor) with great beers, silent horror films, and metal music. It’s a very welcoming atmosphere (for real!)

  3. Diddy Riese - cheap, amazing ice cream cookie sandwiches in one of the few “walking areas” of LA

  4. Griffith Observatory - great place to hike or stargaze, they also have cool events

Things to do and eat

  • UCLA campus - kinda nice to wander around

  • Crazy Fish - cheap, good sushi in a small, fun environment

  • Urth Caffe - if you're into Entourage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Rodeo Drive - high-end shopping that LA is known for

  • The Grove - cool, outdoor shopping mall

  • Melrose - another small hipster-y area good for shopping and wandering

  • Amoeba Music - huge store for buying vinyl and CDs; do people still do this anymore?

  • The Echo - check out their calendar for concerts

  • Malibu - see Pepperdine's campus, the pier, and wander around the little shopping area. Taverna Tony was my fav greek restaurant there.

  • Santa Monica - outdoor shopping and promenade good for wandering; the pier also has a ferris wheel

  • The Getty Villa or The Getty - cool art museums worth a stop if you're heading north

  • The Edison - they used to have $0.25 martinis on Tuesdays…
